Minority languages in Italy
Data visualization for La Lettura - Corriere della Sera
The visualization shows the minority languages present in Italy.
The languages are positioned to create a "linguistic map" of Italy. For each language is shown the name, the native name (which is the name said in that language) and the number of people who speak it. Moreover, each language is linked to the language group to which it belongs. These group are divided as follows: on the left there are the admitted and safeguarded groups, on the right there are the ones not admitted and the non-territorial ones.
On the right you can see the regions in Italy where the languages are spoken.
